Meet The Team

Bill has more than 40 years experience in the inspection, test and quality assurance fields in a wide range of industries in the UK and overseas. He was a tutor on one of the first registered QMS Lead Auditor courses in the UK and has been a registered IRCA Lead Auditor since the scheme commenced. Prior to helping to establish World Certification Services in 1993, Bill was employed by British Telecom Corporate Headquarters as Senior Quality Consultant.

As WCS Operation Director, Bill is fully committed to ensuring the company provides a competitive and cost effective certification service, and to ensuring that there is total impartiality in WCS’s certification activities. Management system controls ensure that objectivity is maintained throughout, and that potential conflicts of interest are identified, managed and controlled.

After graduating from Liverpool University with a BA Honours Degree in Construction Management, and completing a final year dissertation in Quality Management Systems, Grant spent time gaining field experience before joining World Certification in July 1997. He has successfully progressed through the company from Certification Officer, Deputy Certification Manager and Lead Auditor, to his present position of Financial Director (Oct 2010) and AS 9100 Programme Manager.

Having gained wide auditing experience in a range of industries in the UK and USA, Grant fully understands the need for WCS to be able to provide meaningful and value-added audits for WCS’s customers.

Roger Varley is highly driven Graduate Systems Engineer with  experience in IT, telecommunications, insurance fraud and property development.

Roger has a BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSC in Computing and Information Systems.

Roger will be undertaking ISO 9001 Quality System Audits for WCS and he will have key certification responsibilities within the WCS office.

Michele Greenhalgh

Michele joined World Certification in April 2014 and has previously worked in lettings, recruitment and the NHS.

Michele’s roles include processing incoming audit reports, job appointments, dealing with client enquiries, corrective actions, queries, issuing certificates and general office duties.

Since Michele joined she has progressed and continually developed within World Certification Services and was recently promoted to Office Manager in July 2015

Harry has been with World Certification since July 2004 and he has brought valuable operational experience into the company. Harry is a qualified Lead Auditor with a wealth of experience in the Engineering and Telecommunication sectors.

He is responsible for technical review of completed audit reports, triennial reviews and dealing with new contracts. Harry also has responsibility for day to day communication with overseas business managers and for resolving any certification queries.

Cristina Humanes-Yustas
Cristina Humanes-Yustas

Cristina Humanes-Yustas joined World Certification Services in September 2015 as a Graduate Quality System and Environmental Auditor. Christina comes with a wealth of knowledge after undertaking a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences and a Masters Degree in Auditor of Integrated Management Systems. Christina has also worked in industries where she has assisted in working to help their environment in many different capacities.

Christina will initially be undertaking ISO 9001 Quality System Audits before proceeding in to ISO 14001 for WCS and she will have key certification responsibilities within the WCS office.

Karen joined World Certification in early 2010. Her roles include scheduling audits and selecting competent auditors for QMS, EMS and OHSAS audits. Karen fully understands accreditation requirements when it comes to scheduling audits and works hard to meet these requirements.

Karen also works closely with the Financial Director, chasing those outstanding invoices and is a key member of the accounts department.

Lindsey Allmark
Lindsey Allmark

Lindsey was part of the initial team in 1993 when World Certification Services was formed and worked with management to achieve UKAS accreditation. After leaving WCS to travel the world, Lindsey returned in July 2000 and has since gained a wealth of experience in operations and management within the certification sector.

Lindsey is responsible for the day to day management of the office, accounting matters and human resource issues.

Owen Boyce joined World Certification Services in September 2016 on an apprentice scheme and will be training up in our administration team. Owen’s roles will include dealing with initial enquiries, processing of audit reports, issuing of certificates and supporting Karen Birmingham in scheduling of audits in the UK and monitoring overseas audits.
