World Certification Services Ltd can provide independent certification of Food Safety Systems using HACCP principles. Companies requiring such certification will be required to meet the requirements of the Audit Schedule HAS/1.

The Audit Schedule requires that Organisations use the seven following HACCP principles in establishing, implementing and maintaining their HACCP food safety systems.

Undertake a hazard analysis to identify all hazards
Identify critical control points (CCPs)
Establish critical limits
Establish a monitoring system for each CCP
Establish corrective actions
Establish verification procedures
Establish record keeping and documentation procedures

The Audit Schedule includes the terminology and some of the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 in its structure and content but does not aim to replace it.

The Schedule is designed to be used by an Organisation as a stand-alone document, or used by an Organisation who are currently Certified or seeking Certification to either ISO 9000:1994 or ISO 9001:2000. It is applicable to all stages of product processing, including sub-contracted production and distribution, which could affect food safety.

The various sections in this Schedule contain the requirements which an organisation must meet if they are to achieve HACCP Certification. They also contain the criteria by which the audit will be undertaken.

Organisations who are currently certificated or who are actively seeking certification to ISO 9000 will already be compliant with a substantial number of the requirements. For those who elect to use the Schedule as a stand-alone document there is sufficient guidance for the support of the HACCP system. In addition, Appendix 1 contains a Critical Control Point Decision Tree, and Appendix 2 a HACCP Worksheet which Organisations may care to adopt if no other suitable versions are available.

The Schedule Requires:

Adoption of a Risk Analysis system
A documented HACCP system
Control environmental standards, product, process and personnel
