ACCREDITATION

United Kingdom Accreditation Service

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services. Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators. UKAS is a non-profit-distributing company, limited by guarantee, and operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government through the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills .

ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board

The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board is the U.S. Accreditation Body for management systems. ANAB accredits certification bodies (CBs) for:

• ISO 9001 quality management systems (QMS)



• ISO 14001 environmental management systems (EMS)



• ISO 27001 information security management systems (ISMS)



• ISO 22000 food safety management systems (FSMS)



• ANSI/AIHA Z10 occupational health and safety management systems (OHSAS)

The ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) was established January 1, 2005. Previously, the accreditation activities of ANAB were operated by the ANSI-RAB National Accreditation Program (NAP) under a partnership agreement.
